We offer tuition in a variety of subjects, including Ableton, Native Instruments Products (such as Massive, Razor, and Battery), mixing, Arturia, Roland Cloud, U-He (Diva, Hive, Zebra), genre-specific production (such as techno, Drum & Bass, Minimal, Melodic Techno, Trap tech house), Sylenth1, and Serum. Each lesson is tailored to your level of experience, whether you're just starting out or you're already an advanced user.
Our Ableton lessons, for example, cover everything from basic navigation and layout to advanced production techniques, helping you to unlock the full potential of this powerful digital audio workstation. We also offer lessons on popular plug-ins and software from Native Instruments, Arturia, and U-He, so you can learn how to use them to create unique sounds and textures in your tracks.
If you're looking to improve your mixing skills, we have lessons on everything from EQ and compression to advanced techniques like sidechain compression and parallel processing. And if you're interested in producing music in a specific genre, we have lessons that cover the unique characteristics and production techniques of genres like techno, Drum & Bass, Minimal, Melodic Techno, Trap tech house, and more.

At Mind Flux, we're proud to have Michael L Penman as our in-house nerd and chief instructor. With years of experience in the music industry, Michael has released music on renowned labels like M-nus, Ovum, Tronic, and Decay, and has worked with labels and artists like Sima Black, KMS, Cr2, Photek, Gwen Stefani, NO-ID, Asian Dub Foundation, Blond:Ish, and many more.
Michael has also done sound design for some of the biggest names in the industry, including Roland, Sample Magic, Novation, Ableton, NI, Attack Magazine, Zenhiser, and many more. With over 10 years of experience teaching 1-1 tuition sessions, Michael has honed his teaching skills and has a passion for sharing his knowledge and expertise with aspiring producers.
Each session will take place in the synth-covered walls of the Mind Flux studio in Hawick, Scotland. Our studio is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and technology, creating an immersive learning environment that will inspire and motivate you to create your best work. And if you don't live near our studio, don't worry - we also offer remote sessions so you can learn from anywhere in the world.
